Imaginary Monuments
A series of large-scale drawings on paper & etchings done in collaboration with Master Printer Paul Mullowney
An ongoing series of similarly-sized etchings and drawings that consider documents that have shaped our world and to ponder their effects on our contemporary lives.
All the prints are direct gravure etching on multiple copper plates, inspired by the multi-plate prints of Durer and Callot. The prints in the series all measure 48" x 63" or 63"x 48" and are printed on Japanese handmade gampi panels, backed with handmade kozo paper to form a single work on paper. The project is being published by the Catharine Clark Gallery and Paul Mullowney Printing, both in San Francisco, with private support.
