The Leading Causes of Death in America
A series of ten copperplate etchings and a title page, each depicting one of the ten leading causes of death in America. The project was commissioned by the San Diego Museum of Art as part of its "Contemporary Links" series in 2005, in which the museum invites artists to do a project based on works in it's permanent collection. The project was inspired by the extensive collection of prints by George Bellow's in the museum's holdings.
Published by HuiPress in Hawaii, the prints are in an edition of twelve, with ten sets in a clamshell portfolio box. The prints are direct gravure etchings with gampi chine colle, done in collaboration with Master Printer Paul Mullowney. Each print is 30" x 22", published in 2005.
